Stars will join
thousands of local residents on a stroll through the lakes and flowers
of Hollywood Park Oct. 8 as the Alzheimer’s Association
conducts its 8th annual Memory Walk at the landmark racetrack in Inglewood.
Shelley Fabares, David Hyde Pierce, Edward James Olmos, Leeza Gibbons
and Nancy O’Dell are scheduled to join walkers from throughout Southern
California who solicit pledges from their friends for every kilometer
they walk.
For the past seven years, over 20,000 walkers have raised more than $1.5
million for programs and services in Los Angeles County that benefit the
individuals, families and caregivers affected by Alzheimer’s disease.
At Hollywood Park, walkers will enjoy live entertainment, free food, a
health expo and celebrity autograph and photograph sessions. Kids will
be able to ride the Hollywood Park carousel, and everyone will be able
to view horses in training. Parking is free.
For information,
call the Memory Walk Hotline at (323) 930-6228.
